What types of glass shower enclosures are there?

There are 5 main types — distinguished by functionality and bathroom layout:

1. Walk-in shower panel (from €350)

A single glass panel without doors. The most popular choice. Minimal, luxurious, easy to clean.

2. Sliding shower enclosure (from €500)

The classic choice. Sliding doors save space. Soft-close mechanism.

3. Hinged shower enclosure (from €480)

With premium hinges. Suits spacious bathrooms. Looks substantial.

4. Corner shower enclosure (from €700)

L- or U-shaped. Fully encloses the shower. Best water containment.

5. Folding (bi-fold) (from €550)

Folds in half. Ideal for small bathrooms.

What glass thickness does a shower enclosure need?

• 6 mm tempered glass — the standard for walk-in panels and small enclosures
• 8 mm tempered glass — recommended for larger enclosures and those with doors
• 10 mm tempered glass — for premium solutions and large glass surfaces

All glass must be tempered (for safety) and with a hydrophobic coating (fewer limescale traces).

Hardware options
